Functions of the JSDC

To register a dentist who holds recognised dental qualification
To register a Dental Hygienist and Mechanics
To register a Dental Operating Room Assistant
To renew the registration of Dentist, Dental Hygienist, Mechanic and DORA
To issue NOC to dentist for transfer of registration
To prepare and maintain the register of Dentist
To issue duplicate or provisional registration
To issue Good Standing Certificate
To undertake all the activities under Continuing Dental Education Regulations framed by DCI from time to time.
To award points to dentist and keep its record for the purpose of renewal of registration
To take necessary action on the complaint under Code of Ethics Regulations
To consider and report to the State Government on the issues relating to:-
- Penalty for falsely claiming to be registered.
- Misuse of titles
- Practice by unregistered dentist
